18th Century Perfection, France
(52 images)Built in the 17th century for an abbot enobled by Louis XIV, then restored and enlarged a hundred years later, this classical house in a small French village near the Pyrenees remained largely untouched until it was discovered by Aurelien Deleuze and his family. They fell in love with the beautiful proportion of the rooms, the height of the ceilings and the original floors and worked together with a team of local artisans, all from the same family, to restore the house to its original condition
